Model salaries, pay rises and career breaks

Add PAYE salaries, other net income and anticipated pay increases. You can choose starting and ending years to model a career change, a period without work or the move towards retirement.

Schedule household expenses and inflation

Many household costs do not continue forever. Set different start and end years for childcare, mortgage payments, travel or other commitments; apply inflation assumptions to see how costs can change.

Track savings, investments and pension balances

The planner separates accessible holdings from pension balances and property. Pension withdrawals are not yet calculated, so retirement forecasts require particular care when interpreting available cash.

Review your year-by-year financial forecast

The annual table gives you an audit-friendly view of income, spending, cash, investments and estimated net worth. It is intended for experimenting with scenarios, not as a substitute for regulated financial advice.

These are illustrative scenarios, not predictions or financial advice. Review the calculation assumptions and limitations before relying on a projection.

Frequently asked questions

How far into the future can I plan?

The detailed calculator supports extended projections and displays a year-by-year ledger. Longer forecasts become more sensitive to changing returns, inflation and tax rules.

Does it include tax and National Insurance?

It uses simplified 2026/27 England, Wales and Northern Ireland PAYE calculations for supported salary income. Other tax circumstances are not fully covered.

Can I compare a salary-based life with a lottery win?

Yes. Save each as a separate scenario, then review them in the Scenarios section using the same underlying projection method.
